Talent Pipeline Initiative

Project Goal

Based on JobsEQ data, the GO Virginia Region 8 Council chose Manufacturing (Light & Advanced) and Transportation/Logistics as the two target industries to focus the talent pipeline analysis efforts.  These two foundational industries will serve to strengthen the industries directly but also provide tangible benefits to adjacent industry clusters such as IT/Emerging Technologies, Agriculture & Value-Added Food Processing, and the Aviation Subsector.

Using this analysis, it is anticipated that the Board, with subsequent funding, will be able to support implementation projects for talent pathways initiatives.  Such efforts will seek to align training curricula with the needs of business through collaboration incentives as well as facilitate increased work-based learning experiences (internships, apprenticeships, on-the-job upskilling, and re-skilling programs) and to develop entrepreneurial talent.
