About GO Virginia Region 8

Regional Council

Region 8 consists of the cities of Buena Vista, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Staunton, Waynesboro, and Winchester; and the counties of Augusta, Bath, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and Warren.

The Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission serves as Region 8’s fiscal agent and leading support organization, with additional grant administrative support from the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission.

The GO Virginia Region 8 Executive Director is a contracted private position that works directly with Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD), State GO Virginia Board, NSVRC fiscal agent, CSPDC support organization, Regional Council Members, and Region 8 Stakeholders such as Shenandoah Valley Partnership (SVP), Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), and the Virginia Chamber.
